A pair of area golfers repeated as the top two finishers at the Liberty Championship over the weekend at Liberty Hills Golf Club.
Mechanicsburg’s Caleb Westfall claimed the Liberty Championship for the second year in a row with a pair of 68s for a low of 136. Bellefontaine’s Cody Lyons posted a pair of 72s for a 144 to take runner-up honors again.
Urbana’s Chasen Poole finished one shot back for third with 145, Andrew Simpson was fourth with a 147 and Jack Rubin rounded out the top five of the championship flight with a 148.
Also in the championship flight, Bob Hughes was sixth (149), Greg McClellan was seventh (151), Riley Wilcoxon was eighth (152), Kenny Day was ninth (153) and Ken Jenkins was 10th (155).
Raymond’s Ben Galloway won the Flight I championship with a 156, while Bellefontaine’s Shawn Fuerst was runner-up with a 158. Tony Fink came in third with a 162, Darin Vermillion was fourth with a 164 and Denny Lane took fifth with a 166.
In Flight II, Urbana’s Robert Benavides won with a round of 160, Mike Huston was second with 163, Chris Louth took third with 164, while Mark Coleman and Tim Woodrum both finished with 167s.
DeGraff’s Rob Merritt took the top spot in Flight III with a 175. Graham high school student Mason Huffman was second with a 183.
