West Mansfield Council is evaluating what types of equipment might be best to aid the street superintendent in sweeping streets and collecting leaves — two tasks that still are performed manually.
New equipment should make the process safer and more efficient, Village Fiscal Officer and Administrator David Evans reports from this week’s rescheduled April council meeting.
The street and utility committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, to review the options and to finalize requirements for the new clerical position. The equipment being considered are attachments that can be fitted to a tractor or skid loader, which the village already owns.
“We just have to price it and determine what we can afford,” Mr. Evans said.
