Wava J. Mitchell, 85, of DeGraff, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born April 7, 1934, in Waynesfield to the late Lloyd and Mary (Thompson) Swaney. On Dec. 4, 1953, in Harrod she married the love of her life Leo Albert Mitchell; they were happily married for 65 years.
Wava was a volunteer EMT for Bokescreek. She enjoyed gardening, cake decorating and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Tim) Harman, William “Bill” (Pam) Mitchell, Diana Mitchell and Paula (Tim) Ingram; grandchildren, Matthew Michael (Melissa) Harman, Bethany Anne Harman, Christopher Leo (Natalie) Harman, Brandy (Davey) Turner, Audrey Anne Ingram and Jacob Walter Ingram; great grandchildren, Keith (Emily) Turner, Kayla Harman and Alhana Harman and Ryleigh Brielle Harman; great great grandchild, William Alan Turner; siblings, Ralph Swaney, Larry (Pat) Swaney, Judy Craig, Ruth Ogletree, and Mary Jane (David) Augsburger; sister-in-law, June Swaney; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Don Swaney, Norman Swaney, John Swaney, Pete Swaney, Sharon Swaney and Russell Swaney.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
