Jesse Beckham, 28, of Bellefontaine, and Monty Geannerrt, 27, of Huntsville, each were charged with trafficking acid, a felony of the fourth-degree, and felony possession of acid during a traffic stop Monday.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 33 and Township Road 94 observed a pickup operated by a suspended driver.
Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and confirmed the driver to be Beckham and Geannerrt was identified as the passenger.
While speaking with the driver, officers observed he appeared to be overly nervous and was asked out of the vehicle. A search was conducted on both occupants and officers located in Beckham’s pants pocket a pack of cigarettes with a marijuana bud inside.
Officers located a large red bag in the rear of the vehicle in between the driver and passenger containing a large amount of marijuana. Inside the bag of marijuana, officers noticed a folded piece of tinfoil that also reportedly contained 30 hits of acid.
Officers also recovered a jar of marijuana, three marijuana pipes, marijuana grinder, a gaming controller that concealed a white powder substances inside, as well as marijuana dabs.
Both occupants were arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail. They each also were charged with felony possession of marijuana because of the amount recovered and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle also was cited for driving under suspension.
• Shane Peterman, 34 of Lakeview, was charged with felony possession of drugs and tampering with evidence as a result of a traffic stop about 4:20 p.m. Sunday.
Officers stopped his vehicle for a marked lane violation on State Route 366 just east of Russells Point.
Upon speaking with Peterman, signs of drug use were observed. He was asked to exit the vehicle. As he exited the vehicle, a glass methamphetamine pipe was observed on the floor. A probable cause search was conducted.
A container of methamphetamine was located in Peterman’s pocket. Two packages of methamphetamine were located inside of a cigarette pack that Peterman tried to hide.
He was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
