Benjamin Logan’s girls bowling team placed third at the 17th annual Division I-II Ohio high school state invitational kickoff tournament Saturday at HP Lanes in Columbus.
The event is put on by the Ohio High School Bowling Coaches Association.
Ben Logan was seeded fifth after the qualifying round and placed into a bracket where they faced fourth-seeded Mechanicsburg. The Raiders defeated the Indians 855-754.
In the championship semifinals, Ben Logan fell to top-seeded Napoleon 647-612.
Napoleon went on to win the tournament. The Raiders finished third based on scores.
Erica Warne provided a big highlight for Ben Logan by winning the individual tournament out of 70 bowlers. Warne rolled games of 168, 231 and 204 for a 603 series. Warne also made the all-tournament team.
Also for the Raiders, Addie Buckenroth finished 17th with games of 140, 173 and 189 for a 502 series, Kaylee Nicholas, last year’s individual Division II state champion, was 21st by rolling games of 160, 167 and 161 for a 488 series, Ashley Gantt was 30th with games of 119, 166 and 129 for a 414 series and Malori Barnes was 50th with games of 105 and 154 for a 259 series. Ben Logan bowls again today at Bellefontaine.
