Making his first appearance in a snowboarding competition in over a year, former Bellefontaine resident Louie Vito turned in an eighth-place finish at the Dew Tour Winter Games over the weekend.
The field was a star studded one, including American Danny Davis, Australian star Scotty James and Japanese standout Yuto Totsuka.
Competitors had to navigate a modified Superpipe, which differed from the traditional pipe.
Using some new tricks, Vito landed the early lead. As the contest progressed, he eventually settled into the eighth spot.
Vito is a former two-time Dew Tour overall champion. He has taken a break from competing to work on other projects as well as announcing events for NBC Sports. He will be hosting the U.S. Open later this month.
