Violetta Jean Brown, 62, of Zanesfield, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at her winter home in Lake Placid, Fla. She was born in Bellefontaine April 24, 1957, to Marlene Jeanette (LeVan) and Robert Eugene Brown.
Violetta was a 1975 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and her Master’s degree from Wright State University. She returned to Benjamin Logan High School and was a vocational business teacher and later guidance counselor, before retiring after 35 years of service. Violetta was a member of the Logan County Retired Teachers, a trustee for the Sloan Library, and was a poll worker for Logan County Board of Elections.
She was a member of the Zanesfield United Methodist Church, and had been the choir organist and pianist, former financial secretary for the church, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Violetta enjoyed traveling, needlework, and being with her family.
Violetta is survived by her parents, Marlene and Robert Brown of Bellefontaine; sister, Brenda (Jon) Williams; and brother, Perry (Debora) Brown, both of Zanesfield.

Church on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, from 4 to 7 p.m. Pastor Jessica Cavinee officiates Violetta’s Celebration of Life on Friday, Feb. 28, at the church at 10 a.m. Burial follows in Zanesfield Cemetery.
