Violet Lavon “Peggy” Bradford, 85, of Russells Point, would like to let you know her work on earth is done. Sunday April 3, 2016, she received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment in Heaven from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be laughing, dancing cleaning, decorating and talking to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain or lose an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.
We who love her so dearly want her to know she did a great job and was inspiration and an example to all of us. We will remember her smile, her laughter, her dancing, and her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end, just like she wanted. She made a difference in the lives of many. We invite you to join us in remembering her zest for life as we celebrate her life together.
Peggy retired from St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima and was currently working at McDonald’s in Russells Point.
Peggy was born in Bellefontaine on June 7, 1930, to the late Orville and Ruth Alma McMillen Hamilton. On June 27, 1947, she married Donald Eugene Bradford, who preceded her in death July 20, 2007. She also was preceded by sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Virginia (Bill) Bronson and Anna Lee (William) Kotsaris; and brother and sister-in-law, James (Irene) Hamilton; and one son Mike Richard Bradford.
She is survived by daughter, Donna (Gary) Cox and son, Dan Bradford; grandchildren, Michelle Phillips, Bret (Criste) Phillips, Micah Cox, Eric (Christa) Cox, Heather Henderson, Donald Henderson and Billie Henderson; a brother, Mack (Joselynn) Hamilton; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Ed Ingram officiates a funeral at noon Saturday, April 9, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, with visitation two hours prior. Burial is in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
