Each April, National Public Safety Telecommunications Week is celebrated to honor the men and women who serve in the capacity of a dispatcher.
This year, the week of April 10-16, the Bellefontaine Police Department will honor its dispatchers who do an incredible job of serving local citizens every day.
A video produced by Horvath Productions has been posted to the department’s website, https://www.ci.bellefontaine.oh.us/police.html, and the department’s Facebook page to highlight the work of the dispatchers.
“Too often, citizens do not realize how much effort goes into the logistics of police and (emergency medical services) dispatching,” said Police Chief Brandon Standley. “Their actions save lives and help to organize emergency response.”
He hopes citizens will watch the video and consider how important dispatchers are to the city.
