MARYSVILLE — An Urbana woman died early Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle accident in Allen Township Monday night.
At approximately 5:12 p.m. Monday, the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a two-vehicle, head-on crash with serious injuries on Collins Road.
Deputies and units from the Allen Township Fire Department and the Marysville Fire Depart-ment responded to the scene and found a 1999 Honda Accord that was traveling northeast on Collins Road had struck a 2017 Honda Accord that was traveling southwest on the same road.
Two victims were initially transported to Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the 1999 Honda Accord was then flown to Grant Medical Center, where she passed away at 3:21 a.m. Tuesday.
The deceased victim was identified as Erin A. Lee, 42, of Urbana.
The preliminary investigation has determined the 1999 Honda was driven left of center and struck the 2017 Honda Accord head on.
Investigators have determined that drugs may have been a factor in the crash and additional tests are being conducted.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
Collins Road was closed for several hours while the crash was investigated and reopened at approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Union County Emergency Management Agency.
