ADA — Ohio Northern University has been able to acquire two-dose Moderna vaccines for its upcoming state-sponsored COVID-19 mobile mass vaccination clinics, and its clinics will resume today, Thursday, April 15.
Tuesday, ONU temporarily paused its clinics in accordance with the State of Ohio’s action related to the CDC and FDA recommendations Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine administration.
Previously, the university had only been administering the single-dose Johnson & Johnson brand for these regional mass vaccination clinics.
Clinics scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, and Wednesday, April 14, in Marion and Union counties, respectively, were cancelled.
Clinics scheduled at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Bucyrus on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at Ohio Northern University on Friday from 2 to 6:30 p.m. will still be offered.
Clinics scheduled in Hardin, Logan, Union, Marion Crawford and Wyandot counties next week and through the end of May are, at this time, still expected to take place using Moderna doses.
For those with pre-registered appointments at gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov, the local clinics include:
• April 22 — 9 to 11:30 a.m. Quest Community Church, West Liberty; 1:30 to 4 p.m. Belle Center Fire Station.
• May 6 — 9 to 11:30 a.m. Goshen Friends Church, Zanesfield; and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Quincy Municipal Building.
• May 20 — 9 to 11:30 a.m. Belle Center Fire Station; and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Quest Community Church, West Liberty.
ONU’s HealthWise Mobile Clinic, which is hosting the clinics, also is working to acquire two-dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.
