Justin Beair, 39, at large, was charged Friday with possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was served with warrants for failure to appear.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department acted on a tip and located Beair around 8:45 p.m. at Super 8 Motel, 1117 N. Main St. He had a pipe for smoke crack cocaine and a strip of drug treatment film in his possession at the time of the arrest.
While securing Beair, officers noted a car in the parking lot with a running motor. The passenger said he was waiting on his girlfriend to come out of the motel.
Kandi L. House, 38, of North Lewisburg, soon exited the building and got in the driver’s seat. Officers initiated contact and observed an open container of alcohol between her legs and several other open containers in the vehicle.
In a probable cause search of the car, officers located a butterfly knife, drugs and drug paraphernalia in House’s purse. They also found a black bag under the driver’s seat containing more drugs. There were empty small bags and a digital scale with white residue; two small bags with methamphetamine; a plastic container with four pills; and five pills loose.
She was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of prescription drugs, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a knife.
Motorist lodged on warrants
James O. Baker, 35, of Springfield, was lodged in the Logan County Jail on warrants after a 8:45 p.m. traffic stop Thursday in the 500 block of Gunntown Road.
He was operating a car with one working headlamp.
A records check revealed he was wanted on warrants for domestic violence and two counts of violating a protection order. He was cited for driving without a license and driving under suspension.
Tires punctured
Mayci Miller, 809 Heritage Court, Apt. 35, reported Sunday three of the four tires on her car were flattened while parked at the apartment complex. Officers noted punctures in the sidewalls of the tires.
Dog owner charged
Matthew M. McGinnis, 38, of 128 E. Auburn Ave., was charged Sunday for having a dog at large.
His mixed-breed shepherd dog was loose and attacked a cat on the rear porch of Rustin E. Reynold’s 109 Spring Ave. residence around 4 p.m. He was able to chase the dog off but the cat succumbed to injuries.
McGinnis advised officers the dog ran off and he was unable to locate it. It later returned home.
