Two men were charged after a 11:25 p.m. Saturday traffic stop at Red Bud Apartments, 868 E. Sandusky Ave.
Kalob M. Douglas, 21, of Kenton, was jailed on charges of identity fraud, escape, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He also was issued traffic citations for driving under suspension, speeding, failure to drive in the marked lanes of the road, running a stop sign and having open containers of alcohol in a vehicle.
William M. Dolan Jr., 47, of 868 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 146, was lodged on charges of aggravated menacing and persistent disorderly conduct and issued a citation for having open containers of alcohol in a vehicle.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department on patrol used radar to track a sport utility vehicle traveling at 39 mph in a 25-mph zone of Ludlow Road. The officer turned to follow the northbound SUV and observed stop sign violations at Ludlow and Eastern Avenue and at Hayes Street and Columbus Avenue along with multiple double-yellow centerline violations before a traffic stop was initiated at the apartment complex.
Douglas identified himself as another individual and said he did not have a driver’s license. Officers detected an odor of alcohol while talking with him and noted his eyes were dilated and bloodshot. His speech was slow, slurred and thick.
Dolan was a rear seat passenger in the SUV and was disruptive to officers during the traffic stop.
Multiple bottles of beer were found in the SUV and Dolan took a drink from one in the presence of officers. He was taken into custody and seated in the passenger compartment of a cruiser. Dolan repeatedly kicked the interior, officers report.
Field sobriety tests indicated Douglas was impaired and he was told he was under arrest.
He pulled away from an officer and took off running. However, he was quickly tackled and placed in handcuffs.
Once inside a cruiser, he unbuckled himself and began slamming his head into a divider. He sustained a small laceration to his forehead and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by a Bellefontaine squad.
He was treated and released to officers for transport to the Logan County Jail. At the jail, he became combative with staff and was placed in a restraint chair.
Officers intended to issue Dolan a citation for the alcohol container violation and release him from the scene. But he accused them of injuring Douglas and threatened to harm them.
He was arrested and lodged in jail.

Artis has been a resident of the apartment since November.
Roper was taken into custody as a result of the 8:15 p.m. incident and lodged in jail.
• Rebecca A. Savidge, 25, and Steven R. Cooper, 32, both of 831 Cooper Ave., each was charged with domestic violence after an 8:45 p.m. altercation, in which the estranged couple claimed the other tried to take their cellular phone.
Cooper had a visible bite mark on his left forearm. He said he was bitten because he would not let go of his phone while Savidge claimed she bit him to escape a bear hug.
• Tyrone Z. Ramsey, 40, of 517 N. Main St., was charged Sunday with domestic violence.
A neighbor told officers he observed Ramsey arguing with his wife, Lynnsey, in their backyard at 7:55 p.m. The suspect would not allow the victim to return to the home.
The neighbor told officers he observed the husband grab the victim by her arms and throw her to the ground. He then pinned her to the ground after the neighbor told him to let her go.
The victim’s account of the incident matched the neighbor’s account. She also had visible injuries.
The suspect was lodged in jail.

Around 5:30 p.m., officers met with Tommy Salyer and James Bowsher, who claimed Adams threatened to kill both of them after Adams changed his mind regarding auto parts he gave to Salyer.
