Two Bellefontaine men were arrested on probation violation warrants after detectives of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force surrounded one of the men’s home Wednesday afternoon.
Detectives and other local law enforcement agents converged on the 416 Woodland Drive residence about 2 p.m. searching for the resident Gregory Coons, 42, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Mr. Coons eventually emerged from the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
While at the home, detectives also saw Derek Newell, 31, of 1000 Garfield Ave., Lot 38, approach the scene and watch from a distance. Detectives confirmed an outstanding warrant for Mr. Newell’s arrest and took him into custody, too.
Both men originally were convicted of trafficking in heroin. They each reported using heroin shortly before the Wednesday arrest.
