Triad’s boys basketball team came up short against visiting Mechanicsburg on Wednesday in a 59-51 loss during Ohio Heritage Conference North division play.
The Cardinals slide to 1-12 overall and 0-10 in the OHC North, while the Indians improve to 4-7, 4-7.
Mechanicsburg was just one point better (13-12) to finish the first quarter. The Indians outscored the Cardinals 13-10 in the second quarter, which gave them a 26-22 edge heading into halftime.
Triad clipped M’burg in the third quarter 14-13 to make it a three-point game (39-36). The Indians finished off the game with a 20-15 run in the fourth quarter.
Ayden Sanford led the Cardinals with 14 points, Dillon Nott had nine points and Batai Lease and Greg Sizemore each added eight points.
In two quarters of junior varsity action, Triad outscored Mechanicsburg 32-23.
Triad is back in action Friday at home against Madison Plains in more OHC action.
