Ryan J. Hunsicker, 45, of 226 1/2 E. Columbus Ave., was charged Monday with aggravated trespassing, persistent disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He also was cited for reckless operation.
At 9:30 p.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were responding to 1616 Maple Ridge Drive, the home of the suspect’s ex-wife. The suspect was banging on the door, dispatchers advised officers.
The defendant was walking away as officers arrived and was noticeably intoxicated and belligerent. He became aggressive toward officers but began to walk back to the residence when an officer drew his Taser.
Another officer moved to stop the defendant at the curb and placed him handcuffs.
Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol while interacting with the motorist and asked him if he would participate in field sobriety tests. He refused.
His sport utility vehicle was parked in the yard at the front entrance.
He was offered a breathalyzer test but refused it.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Dawn Helton, 29, of 1190 Duff Road, Lot 67, Lakeview was served Monday with a warrant for failure to appear and lodged in jail.
Motorists cited in crashes
Derrick A. Thompson, 36, of Bellefontaine, was cited for improper backing after he backed a car into Mary Lou Peter, 81, of West Liberty, while she was walking in the parking lot of Walmart, 2281 S. Main St., around 7:05 p.m. Sunday.
Peter sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.
• Judy A. Lowe, 69, of Bellefontaine, was cited for a marked lanes violation after a two-car crash around 10:55 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of south Main Street.
Officers report she was northbound and switched from the center lane to the curb. Her vehicle hit the rear driver’s side of a car operated by Cherryol C. Huffman, 77, of Bellefontaine.
Damage was light.
