A Pacific brillance pin oak tree was planted Wednesday in honor of Bellefontaine’s 200th birthday. The Bellefontaine Rotary and Bellefontaine Kiwanis Club donated the funds in an effort to co-sponsor the planting, and the Bellefontaine Shade Tree Commission selected the tree. Current Club Presidents Dr. Jason Robson (Rotary) and Scott Elliott (Kiwanis) are pictured with the ceremonial shovel of dirt. Also pictured are local elected officials, including city council members Jenna James, Kyle Springs, Mic Lyle and Deb Baker; Zeb Wagner, president of council; Josh Stolly, city law director; Fred Brentlinger, city auditor; and Mayor Ben Stahler.
