Anthony Latta, 27, of Irons, Mich., was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs during a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 4:40 p.m. stopped a vehicle occupied by Latta for an equipment violation on U.S. Route 33 near State Route 708.
Upon making contact, officers said the defendant appeared overly nervous and showed signs of drug use.
K9 Bruno was deployed and indicated on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted.
Inside bag that belonged to Latta, officers found suspected methamphetamine. Latta told officers he was traveling from West Virginia to Michigan for drug treatment.
He was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail. The Russell’s Point Police Department assisted at the scene.
