Corbin Royston, 45, of Olivet, Mich., was charged with two felony counts of possession of drugs, along with a charge of possession of drug abuse instruments, during a traffic stop Monday evening.
An officer of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 7:55 p.m. on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 94 observed a vehicle driven by Royston with a loud exhaust.
As the officer drove behind the vehicle, the officer observed a lane violation and a check of the registration returned that the vehicle’s registration was expired.
A traffic stop was initiated and upon making contact with Royston, he was overly nervous for the traffic stop. The officer discovered that Royston did not have a valid driver’s license and asked him to exit the vehicle.
Once outside of the vehicle, the officer observed the defendant to be sweating profusely. He consented to a search of the vehicle.
Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia were recovered.
Royston was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
