West Liberty-Salem has announced its homecoming court for festivities that take place this week. Pictured are, from the left, first row: queen candidates Selena Weaver, Madison Bahan, Sophia Cole, Grace Estes, Anna McGill and Kaylee LeVan; and second row: freshman attendant Olivia Wilcox, king candidates Nick Burden, Hayden Phillips and Garrett Richardson, junior attendant Emily Hollar, king candidates Drew Hardwick, Isaiah McGill and Luke Hudson and sophomore attendant Trinity Floyd. Festivities kick off today, Thursday, Sept. 24, with a special homecoming court dinner for the court and their escorts catered by Half Day Café. Friday afternoon, students will enjoy the first pep rally of the year that will take place in the Tiger Stadium ahead of Friday night’s homecoming game against Northeastern. Activities wrap up Saturday evening with the crowning of the king and queen in an outdoor ceremony at 8 p.m. to allow the court members and their escorts to have their family attend before the homecoming dance. “While some things will look different for the Tiger’s homecoming celebrations, adjustments are working out well, and we are thankful for the help of the Champaign County Health District for working diligently and quickly to give our students a safe alternative for this important tradition,” school officials said.
