Thomas Edward McConnell, 72, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Thomas E. McConnell was born March 3, 1949, in Richland, Washington, to parents, Robert C. McConnell and Mary A. McConnell.
Thomas E. McConnell is preceded in death by his father, Robert C. McConnell and Tom’s daughter, Anna Maria McConnell.
Tom is survived by his wife, Erlinda Saladino, and his three children: Thomas McConnell Jr., Columbus, Ind., Daniel McConnell, Seattle, Sarah Park-McConnell, Edmonds, Wash., and five grandchildren.
Tom is also survived by his mother, Mary A. McConnell, St. Petersburg, Fla., and his four siblings: Dr. Richard McConnell, Covington, La., Dr. Lawrence McConnell, Seminole, Fla., Jean (McConnell) Dorrell, Willisburg, Ky., and Martha (McConnell) Honaker, Columbus, Ohio.
Tom McConnell graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1967. While in high school, he was a member of the tennis team, the Key Club, the marching band, and served as president of his senior class. He attended Ohio State University graduating in 1971. He had resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, for 40 years.
A memorial service is being planned for later in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The McConnell family had just recently celebrated the one hundredth birthday of Tom’s mother, Mary A. McConnell in Seminole, Florida. During our visit, Tom kept everyone laughing with his quick wit and pleasant personality. His death was a shock to all of us.
