Indian Lake High School sophomore Thomas E. Meek, 16, of Lewistown, sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle weather-related crash about 5:45 p.m. Sunday on State Route 235 just north of State Route 274.

Washington Township Police report he lost control of his northbound vehicle on the icy snow-covered roadway, slid off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
He was extricated from the heavily-damaged vehicle and was transported by an Indian Lake EMS squad to Mary Rutan Hospital and on to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by a Bellefontaine EMS squad. He was wearing a seat belt. Investigation continues into the crash.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene as did officers from the Russells Point Police Department and personnel from Indian Joint Fire District.
