KENTON — State investigators have determined that a Kenton apartment complex fire that took the life of a Kenton man in November was an arson, and authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 leading to the arrest of the responsible person, according to Kenton-Times reports.
The morning of Nov. 17, residents of Scioto Village Apartments’ building B were assisted out of second floor windows to escape the fire. Brandon Argerbright was transported from the scene, but later died of injuries he sustained while fleeing the building.
A local team from the prosecutor’s office, Crime Task Force, Kenton Police Department and the Kenton Fire Department joined forces to conduct an investigation to assist the Ohio Fire Marshal’s office and the insurance company that represented Scioto Village, officials reported.
While no suspects are being named at this time, there are persons of interest in the fatal blaze, Prosecutor Brad Bailey said.
Those with information should call the prosecutor’s office at (419) 674-2284; Firefighter Tate Peterson at the Kenton Fire Department, (419) 673-1235; or Detective Mike Conley at the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, (419) 673-1268, ext. 2106.
