A man was arrested on multiple felony charges shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department observed Joshua Fuqua, 40, at large, was operating a vehicle in the Speedway gas station parking lot, 600 East Sandusky Ave.
Officers knew Fuqua was a parolee at large for robbery, had a felony warrant for his arrest and a suspended license.
Authorities made contact with the vehicle and told Fuqua if he fought law enforcement or resisted, a K9 officer would be deployed. He complied and was placed under arrest.
Officers observed suspected narcotics in the pocket of the driver’s door in plain view. Fuqua admitted the drugs belonged to him.
Authorities also located a loaded 9mm handgun under the floor mat of the driver’s side floorboard within reach of Fuqua. Hypodermic syringes were also recovered in the vehicle.
Fuqua was charged with having weapons while under disability, three counts of felony possession of drugs, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug abuse instruments and he was served his felony warrant. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
