Benjamin Logan Schools fourth-graders supported the HHC 16th Engineer Brigade in Kuwait with care packages sent for the holidays, and recently, Barb’s Kuck’s fourth-grade class was presented with an American flag that was flown in Kuwait on Dec. 11 by Abbey Shields, wife of troop member Joshua Shields, MSG, of West Mansfield. Their daughter, Marley, attends fourth-grade at Benjamin Logan. The special gift “stirred up many more questions for the students about Kuwait,” Kuck said. “The students plan to continue their contact with the soldiers and will write to them again on Valentine’s Day.” Last week, the class also received a large packet of letters from the soldiers with messages of gratitude for the care packages. ”We are very proud of the Benjamin Logan students for showing their appreciation to our U.S. Military Men and Women for their sacrifices. Don’t ever underestimate the value of a simple letter to show support, love and gratitude to our troops overseas,” said Sally Stolly, director of administrative services.
