Judge Kevin P. Braig of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas sentenced Miranda E. Stidam Wednesday to a three-year prison term on two third-degree felony convictions.
Previously, Stidam, 25, pled guilty to complicity to possession of cocaine and complicity to aggravated possession of drugs.
Jan. 28, Bellefontaine Police Department detectives and officers converged on Stidam’s apartment and executed a narcotics-related search warrant.
According to a pre-sentence investigation report, law enforcement recovered 15.7 grams of powder cocaine, approximately 6.1 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 1.9 grams of fentanyl, and approximately 5.5 grams of crack.
Pursuant to another search warrant, Detective Jake Siekierka searched Stidam’s phone. The search confirmed Stidam’s involvement in drug sales with multiple people. Text message conversations showed how she traveled to another city in Ohio to pick up drugs.
Based on the information in the pre-sentence investigation report, the court found that the offenses were committed for hire or as part of organized crime.
“Coupled with the significant amount of drugs recovered by the Bellefontaine Police Department, the court found that a prison sentence was necessary to adequately punish the defendant and protect the public and that a non-prison sentence would demean the seriousness of the conduct,” Judge Braig reported in a release.
