Bellefonataine Mayor Ben Stahler was reappointed chairman of the Logan County Mayors’ Association at the Wednesday evening meeting of the association at the Bellefontaine City Council Chambers.
Seven mayors were present for their quarterly meeting. In addition to mayor of Bellefontaine, the following villages were represented by their respective mayors: Russells Point, Lakeview, West Liberty, DeGraff, Quincy and Belle Center.
Logan County Commissioner Paul Benedetti reported on an opportunity for demolition of various structures within the county during this calendar year.
Commissioner Joe Antram offered an update with the process following the Ohio Opiate Court settlement and the possible distribution of those funds.
Sheriff Randy Dodds discussed current topics with county law enforcement and the recent closing of the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Logan County Chamber President and CEO Ben Vollrath visited about current economic development opportunities within the county.
Logan County Health Commissioner Travis Irvan detailed current health statistics and the limited availability of Covid-19 testing with the county.
Logan County EMA Director Helen Norris also offered updates regarding the agency.
The next meeting the Mayors’ Association is 6:30 p.m. April 20, hosted by the Village of Quincy.
