The phrase better late than never suits the track Jake Stoneburner’s career has taken at Ohio State.
For most of his time in a Buckeye uniform, Stoneburner struggled to meet the high expectations that came with him from Dublin Coffman High School four years ago.
Stoneburner was ranked the third-best tight end in the country by Rivals.com coming out of high school.
The process of implementing Stoneburner into the OSU offense sputtered, though. He redshirted during his first year with the Buckeyes.
Over the next three seasons, he made 37 receptions (averaging just 12 catches per year). He did have some success at times, catching nine touchdown passes.
