Benjamin Logan’s boys and girls track and field teams led the area squads Friday at the Waynesfield-Goshen Invitational.
The Raider boys grabbed runner-up honors, while the girls team came in third.
Host W-Goshen won the boys 12-team meet with 132 points.
Ben Logan had 115.5 points, Spencerville was third with 97 points and Parkway edged Indian Lake for fourth 78.5-75.5. Riverside finished seventh with 42 points and Ridgemont was 11th with 10 points.
“I was very pleased with our overall team effort,” said Ben Logan boys head coach Kevin Butler. “We took 23 guys and 22 of them scored points. It was a very complete team performance. Our seniors and juniors are great kids that I really enjoy coaching and watching compete.
“I can’t say enough about guys like Bryden Penhorwood, Grant Ward and George Kern. They each competed in four events and competed at a high level. I thought this meet was a great confidence builder for our team and I’m looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish over the next month.”
