West Liberty-Salem delivered a thriller Friday and moved one step closer to a league championship.
The Tigers took its first and only lead of the game with 12.9 seconds left against visiting West Jefferson and held on for a 54-53 win in a key Ohio Heritage Conference battle.
“This win was a testament to our guys,” said WL-Salem head coach Darrin Leichty. “They got frustrated and baskets were hard to come by. In the third quarter we were able to get the pressure on them and get them on their heels.”
