Triad senior Hadley LeVan set a single-game school scoring with 51 points Friday against visiting West Jefferson, but it wasn’t enough as the Roughriders grabbed a 77-69 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.
The previous single-game scoring record was set by Terry Donohoe with 48 points in 1978.
West Jefferson started out with a 19-11 lead after the opening quarter. The Roughriders pulled away in the second quarter, going on a 16-5 run to hold a 35-16 lead at the break.
The Roughriders pushed their lead to 20 points (53-33) at the end of the third quarter.
LeVan scored 30 of his 51 points in the fourth quarter to help Triad go on a 36-22 run.
West Jefferson held off the rally to get the eight-point win.
