Wildcats run away from Raiders

A dominant second quarter by North Union doomed Benjamin Logan in the first round of its own Tip-Off Classic on Friday.

The Wildcats outscored the host Raiders 19-3 run in the second period and went on to take a 58-42 victory.

Ben Logan will now face Riverside in the consolation game at 6 p.m. tonight. North Union takes on Triad in the championship game at 8 p.m.

“We have a long way to go,” said Ben Logan head coach Cam Saylor. “It’s a gauge of where we are right now. We played good at times and for three quarters we competed.

“We struggled in the second quarter and the game really got away from us. We played hard, but we just didn’t execute well enough against a good team like that.”
