Stewart sets hits record for Urbana University

Benjamin Logan graduate Courtney Stewart, a senior outfielder on the Urbana University softball team, became the school’s all-time hits leader during the first game of a doubleheader against Glenville State on Saturday.

Stewart needed two hits to take over the Blue Knights’ all-time hits list and picked them up in a 8-1 win in the opening game of the doubleheader.

The previous record was set by Jackie Masur in 2008.

Gleville State won the second game Saturday 10-1. Urbana is now 9-11 on the season.
