The Pirates are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the NWCC, while the Gophers fall to 2-3, 0-2.

“The girls did a nice job,” said Riverside head coach Andy Phelps. “We hit the ball with runners in scoring position. We also played good defense behind Shelby Giles.”

Riverside drove in two runs in the first inning and poured in six more runs in the bottom of the second frame. That boosted the Pirates to an 8-0 advantage.
