Louie Vito on Thursday proved he can still hang with the best snowboarders in the world.
Vito placed sixth in a stellar field of SuperPipe riders at X Games 2017 in Aspen.
The 12 riders received two runs in the finals, with the best run used for their final score.
Vito recorded a score of 72 in his first run and that ended up being the sixth-best run of the night.
Scotty James took the gold medal in the event with a score of 90. Matt Ladley won the silver with an 80 and Taylor Gold finished with the bronze after scoring 79.
Chase Josey was fourth (75) and Danny Davis was fifth (74).
Former champions Shaun White and Iouri Podladtchikov also competed, but did not fare well.
Podladtchikov was 10th with a score of 31.33 and White struggled to an 11th-place finish after mustering a score of 29.66.
Vito will be back in competition next weekend at the U.S. Grand Prix in Mammoth, Calif.
