Tigers’ McIntosh reaches 300 victories

West Liberty-Salem’s Dennis McIntosh has led the Tiger girls basketball team to several marquee moments during his time as head coach. Saturday was another special moment for him.

The Tigers pulled away to drop host Triad 60-43 in an Ohio Heritage Conference contest, and in the process, helped McIntosh record his 300th career win.

McIntosh, who is in his 21st season as head coach, gave full credit to his players and staff for his accomplishment. His career record is now 300-153.

“It takes a lot of players and coaches to help you along the way to achieve something like this,” said McIntosh. “We’ve had a good program over the years. 

“You have to have dedicated players who will buy into your system, and we’ve changed our system several times during the years. You also have to have unselfish players. You need those players who will play defense or do the things that won’t show up in the scorebook.”
