Chiefs’ Pattison to wrestle at Wilmington

PATTISON

Being a college athlete is something Bruno Pattison has always aspired to be. That didn’t always seem realistic to him at times, but through hard work and dedication, it has turned into a reality.

The Bellefontaine wrestling standout has earned an opportunity to continue his career on the mat at Wilmington College, an NCAA Division III program.

“When I was little I always wanted to be a college athlete,” said Pattison. “But it became more realistic after my junior season when I made it to state.”

Pattison is a two-time Division II state qualifier and placed seventh this season at 220 pounds. He is one of just five Chieftains to ever place at the state tournament.

“I chose Wilmington because it felt right on my visits,” said Pattison. “I really like Coach (Justin) Kihn and Coach (Ian) Clark. They were really supportive all season and were at a lot of my meets.”
