After four scoreless innings to start the game, Riverside scored six runs over the next two frames to pull away for a 6-0 win over Covington in a Division IV district semifinal game Tuesday at Houston High School.

The fourth-seeded Pirates improve to 17-8 and face National Trail (16-7) at 11 a.m. Saturday in the district championship in Tippecanoe. The 11th-seeded Buccaneers end the spring with a 7-14 mark.
“The win felt great,” said RHS head coach Andy Phelps. “After losing five seniors from last year’s team, we are very young. To play the way we did in that atmosphere was a great feeling. The girls were very relaxed and played that way.”
