Grace Deardurff has worked meticulously on her pitching over the years, and now that hard work has paid off.

The Benjamin Logan standout will extend her softball career after recently signing with the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima.

“I really liked the environment they had there,” said Deardurff. “It felt like home to me.

“I’ve always had that dream to play college softball. Now that I’ve accomplished that I can relax. It’s been a stressful process and stressful decision, so it’s nice to have it done with.”

Finding a school for softball at was just part of the process. Deardurff was also looking for a good fit academically with her major of agricultural business management and a minor in diesel technology.

“UNOH will be a great fit for Grace,” said Ben Logan head coach Amanda Davis. “She really likes the campus and overall what the school has to offer academically and athletically.

“Not only do they offer her an opportunity to play softball, but she will be able to pursue a degree in diesel technology as well.”
