Chiefs’ Clement to continue hoops career at Ohio Wesleyan

Jack Clement will be part of a Bellefontaine reunion at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware.

Clement, a standout guard who scored over 1,000 points during his Chieftain basketball career, has decided to join former BHS players Dawsin and Tristin Tillman at OWU.

“Having the opportunity to play with Dawsin and Tristin definitely played into my decision,” said Clement, who also seriously considered Ohio Northern University and Centre College. “Growing up I really admired Tristin and I have always wanted to play with him.

I played two years in high school with Dawsin and he became one of my best friends. It makes it exciting to know I have two great friends there.”

Clement said there were several other benefits of OWU that sealed his decision.

“I just felt like Ohio Wesleyan is the best fit for me and my family,” he said. “It’s close to home, it’s very affordable for me financially and I really like their basketball program. Delaware really feels like home to me.”

Bellefontaine head coach Jason Calton is proud to see another Chieftain earn the opportunity to play at the col- lege level.

“It makes me so happy for Jack,” said Calton. “I tell the kids any time you can extend your playing career and especially if the school is going to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, no matter what level it is, you should take advantage of it. Most guys don’t have the chance to play at the college level.”
