Bellefontaine’s girls bowling team claimed its first Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail championship in 11 years Saturday after winning the league tournament Friday at T- P Lanes.

The Chieftains finished first in the tournament and were also first in the overall point standings for the season. It is the program’s first league title since the 2007-08 season.
Bellefontaine won the girls tournament with a total pin count of 3,384. Kenton Ridge came in second with 3,343, Tecumseh took third with 3,007, Jonathan Alder was fourth with 2,933, London came in fifth with 2,549 and Springfield Shawnee was sixth with 2,310.
The Chiefs edged the Cougars 36-30 in the overall point standings to take home the Kenton Trail division championship. The Arrows came in third with 26 points.
Graham held off Northwestern 3,274-3,269 to win the Mad River division tournament on Friday. Ben Logan was third with 2,907, Urbana came in fourth with 2,818, North Union finished fifth with 2,775 and Indian Lake rounded out the group in sixth with 2,285.
