Bellefontaine’s wrestling team finished seventh out of 18 teams Saturday at the Canal Winchester Invitational and came away with five placers.
Groveport Madison held off Westland to win 169-164.
Walnut Ridge took the runnerup spot with 117 points and Canal Winchester was fourth with 108 points. Bellefontaine came in seventh with 101 points.
Senior Bruno Pattison led the Chieftains by winning the 220-pound weight class. Pattison, ranked fifth in the state in Division II, went 3-0 on the day with three pins. In the finals, he recorded a 44-second fall over Westland’s Kyle Newman.
