For a stretch of about 2 1/2 quarters Friday night, Bellefontaine looked like it had found the confidence that eluded it in the first three games of the season. Then, a disastrous second-half stretch wiped it all out.

The Chiefs, who came in with an 0-3 record after a grueling stretch of opening games, jumped out to a 16-point lead over Kenton Ridge behind some red-hot shooting.
However, the Cougars used a 25-2 run in the second half to turn the game around and went on to hand the host Chiefs a stunning 59-53 loss in a Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division boys basketball game.
“I take the blame,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jason Calton. “We went into a don’t lose mentality instead of staying aggressive.”
