West Liberty-Salem’s girls cross country team ended the regular season by winning its third straight meet title Saturday after taking the top spot at the Anna Rocket Invitational.
The Tiger boys gave a runner-up performance.
The Big Orange girls, which are ranked fourth in the latest Division III state poll, won out of 16 teams with 23 points and had seven runners in the top 30. Brookville came in second with 109 points and Lakota West was third with 116 points. Indian Lake also ran and finished 16th with 389 points.
“Winning the last regular season meet is a good confidence booster for us heading into the postseason,” said WLSalem head coach Ann Vogel. “ I’m proud of the total team effort and the way the girls competed for every place.”
