Through a generous donation from a friend of Logan County Land Trust, nationally-known speaker Ray Archuleta will be in the Logan County area Thursday, Feb. 24, and will participate in several speaking engagements throughout the day to discuss soil health and regenerative agriculture.
Archuleta is a certified professional soil scientist with the Soil Science Society of America and has more than 30 years of experience as a soil conservationist, water quality specialist and conservation agronomist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The local presentations Feb. 24 include:
• Conservation Tillage Breakfast — 7:30 to 9 a.m., Plaza Inn Restaurant, Mt. Victory, topic: “Soil Health”; no cost or reservation required.
• Benjamin Logan High School auditorium — 12:30 p.m. for a one-hour presentation; contact Bob Stoll to make reservations at (937) 935-7505 or e-mail bob.stoll5.
• West Liberty-Salem High School cafetorium — 5:30 p.m. dinner, presentation at 6:30 p.m., $20 per person, make reservations by Feb. 21 at go.osu.edu/Archuleta.
The Logan County Land Trust encourages local mayors, council members, township trustees and citizens to attend the presentations to learn more about protecting ground water resources and soil health.
“Protecting our surface and ground water resources has such a long term benefit to the citizens of our community,” representatives said.
