Officers of the Sidney Police Department searched Thursday for more than a dozen alleged criminals for a slew of drug-related charges including possession of and trafficking in narcotics including Fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and Suboxone.
Two separate arrest units deployed around 3:45 p.m. Thusday sought to execute arrest warrants on a total of 16 suspects indicted by a Shelby County grand jury.
Arrest warrants originated from several months of undercover investigations, coordinated by the Sidney Police Department’s Narcotics unit and drug enforcement by the Sidney’s patrol division.
By 7 p.m. Thursday, a six individuals had been lodged in Shelby County Jail, including Sidney residents: Cindy Maxwell, 38; Rendall Vaughn, 31; Ryan Leach, 38; Troy D. McRae Sr., 56; and Howard Slagel, 61.
Another Sidney resident, James Hughes, 48, was arrested during the operation, and charged with one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, and a count of attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor.
Law enforcement is still seeking others indicted as a result of the undercover operations.
Wednesday, the Sidney-Piqua Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant at an address at 701 W. North St., Sidney, and arrested Tim Anderson, 49, charging him with possession of methamphetamine.
