Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Dollar General, 10556 N. U.S. Route 68, Belle Center, about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a shoplifting incident.
Deputies were informed by employees that a male suspect had come into the store and loaded a storage bin with diapers, feminine hygiene items and other products. The man then took the bin of items and reportedly left the store without paying for the items, exiting through the rear door in a storage area. The store’s alarm sounded.
Upon reviewing video surveillance, deputies observed that the male suspect had come in the store with a woman. Deputies said she exited the store through the front door before the man exited through the rear door.
• Deputies also responded Tuesday morning to a report of criminal damaging involving a political sign at 6500 E. State Route 274, Apt. B, Rushsylvania.
The resident said her Trump 2020 sign had been damaged and it was laying in her front yard. A “Latta For Congress” sign had been stapled to the original metal post of her political sign.
