Sheryl S. ‘Sherri’ Thompson, 76, of Lakeview, and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, in Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born in Bellefontaine, on Feb. 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Merely Revell Oglesbee and Martha Louise (McWade) Kessler. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas C. and John Earl Sheeley.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Scott) McClain of Lakeview and son, Dan (Kristal Moore) Thompson of Columbus, four grandchildren: Jordan Aldo, Jenna (Derek) Welch, Alexandra (Corey Hanes) Thompson, and Sierra Thompson, two great grandchildren, Carter Hanes and Landry Welch, a brother, Sam (Sue) Sheeley of Bellefontaine, sister-in-law, Diane Sheeley of Bellefontaine, a daughter-in-law, Stacy Thompson of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.
Sherri worked for Honda Transmission (HTM) from 1986 until her retirement in 2008. She loved any and all babies and children, enjoyed giraffes and collecting all things giraffe related. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family, especially the time with her grandchildren.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service on Sunday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Visitation will be on Sunday two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.
