An impressive display of security accompanied the second day of the 2016 Republican National Convention as delegates set about the task of casting their official votes for the party’s nominee, a local delegate said.

“I have never seen so many policemen,” Ranae Lentz of Bellefontaine, who represents the 12th Ohio Senate District, wrote in a message.
“Twenty different states are represented with policemen. Yesterday walking up 9th Street it was being guarded by the Michigan State Patrol,” she said, noting that she and her husband Bob, a die-hard Ohio State fan, had an entertaining conversation with the security detail.
“There were probably 75 patrolmen representing Michigan. Last night the Wisconsin State Patrol were on duty. They have been alert and ready to go.”
