Scott E. Parthemore, 56, of West Mansfield, died at 4:17 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born in Kenton on Sept. 13, 1959, to the late Dallas and Sandra Pettit Parthemore. He also was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles.
On Sept. 28, 1979, he married Pearlyn Eastman and she survives in West Mansfield, along with a daughter; Alicia Lyn (Corey) Green of Springfield; a son, Tech. Sgt. Jeremy (Jennifer) Parthemore of Dayton; a sister, Rhondi Parthemore of Delaware; a brother, Jeff (Christi) Parthemore of Mt. Victory; six grandchildren, Savannah Parthemore, Jeremeiah Brown, Trevor Parthemore, Rosie Parthemore, Dorian Green and Zayne Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1978 graduate of Ridgemont High School, Scott joined the Ohio National Guard where he served for 18 years, 10 years in the infantry and eight years as a tank mechanic. While serving as a tank mechanic, he got to work on the president’s tank.
He was avid outdoorsman, spending as much time as he could hunting and fishing. He also was a member of the International Bow Hunters Organization. Scott also enjoyed playing and coaching sports. He played football and softball and coached boys and girls softball/baseball for more than 20 years. He will be deeply missed by his family.
A memorial service is at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home, Mt. Victory, where visitation begins at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vascular and Thoracic Department of the Cleveland Clinic.
